Meet The Teachers

Jennifer Geisert
Miss Jennifer is from Ogallala Nebraska. She studied at the University of Nebraska. She and her husband have two grown children. Miss Jennifer was a Pines parent for 4 years and then began her career at the Pines 22 years ago. It is not uncommon to hear children ask if it is a Miss Jennifer day! She loves to bake, read and travel.

Jennifer Buettner
Miss Jen was born and raised in Nebraska and has been with the Pines for 5 years.  In 2000, she and her husband moved to Lincoln and they have 3 children.  Before becoming a teacher at The Pines, Miss Jen was a Pines parent while her 3 children attended.  She was a regular volunteer and helped out as a substitute teacher. Miss Jen graduated from UNO and has been employed with Lincoln Public Schools as a mentor and a paraprofessional.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming, watching Nebraska Volleyball and attending church.

Nancy Ozenbaugh
Miss Nancy is in her 8th year at The Pines.  She is not a stranger to us as she was a Pines parent for 5 years.  She grew up in Bruning Nebraska and has lived in Hallam since 2000.  She and her husband have 4 children that are part of the Norris school district.  Miss Nancy has a degree in Early Childhood.  Her experiences include working in a childcare center for 9 years before staying home with her children and opening a home daycare.  Her free time is spent enjoying her family, reading and running.

Jan Tuma-Christensen
I am a Lincoln native and attended the University of Nebraska where I earned a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in early childhood education. Prior to opening The Pines Day School 31 years ago, I taught kindergarten for Lincoln Public Schools. Being an educator for many years has many rewards. The most fulfilling are the connections we make with young children and their families while at the Pines. Those connections come back to each of us in the form of friendships that last way beyond the preschool years. My husband Dave and I have 2 grown children and even though they no longer live at home, we are lucky to see them often. When I am not at school, you can find me outside working with our farm or wildlife rescue animals, digging in my flower gardens or just spending time with family.
